YouTuber Brian Menard has published 71 minutes of gameplay footage from State of Decay 3. The sequel is set in a world several years into a blood plague epidemic.
Players manage a community of survivors with permadeath in place — fallen members don't come back. Multiple settlements can be built and merged into a single community, with ongoing demands to reinforce defenses, expand the arsenal, craft explosives, and treat the wounded to keep morale up. A four-player online co-op mode is also planned.
Undead Labs intends to support the game post-launch with new content and challenges.
State of Decay 3 launches in 2027 on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series, including Game Pass.
