Developers from Owlcat Games recently released a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, designed to briefly reveal the features of the upcoming game.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is a party-based RPG based on the tabletop roleplaying game of the same name. In the studio's previous creation (Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader), gamers controlled a powerful Rogue Trader, but this time they'll take on the role of an Imperial Inquisition acolyte fighting humanity's enemies from the shadows.
Throughout the campaign, players will explore diverse worlds of the Calixis Sector, which faces danger from the Tyrant Star and the traitorous Night Lords Space Marine legion. A rich role-playing system will allow gamers to choose their own methods for completing tasks, interacting with potential companions, and unraveling detective mysteries. Decision-making will directly impact not only the future of individual planets, but the fate of the entire sector.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is being developed for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Release timing remains unannounced. Meanwhile, Owlcat Games continues content support for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, is creating the ambitious The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, and operates their own publishing business.
