The creators of the new Painkiller from Anshar Studios have released a fresh trailer featuring a brief gameplay demonstration of the optional Rogue Angel mode.
As the name suggests, Rogue Angel mode offers roguelike gameplay elements. Players enter a separate Purgatory realm where they must fight through procedurally generated arenas while collecting various Tarot cards, weapons, and items that will prove useful in battles against deadly bosses.
As a reminder, the main Painkiller campaign tells the story of sinners trapped in Purgatory for crimes against Heaven. These desperate heroes are given a chance to redeem their sins — by defeating the fallen angel Azazel and his minions. The game can be played solo or in co-op with up to three players.
Painkiller launches October 21 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
