Björn Pankratz and his wife Jennifer Pankratz have released the second video in their planned series. In it, the couple answered questions regarding Piranha Bytes. No one has officially announced the death of the studio, but the authors of the video make it clear that the office has ceased to exist.
The main points from the video:
- Bjorn and Jenny do not openly talk about closing Piranha Bytes, but their words directly indicate this. They say that when the studio became part of the Embracer Group, everyone thought that they would be able to play games until they were old, but “the economy had other plans - suddenly everyone found themselves in a very bad financial situation.”
- The couple claims that they did not leave Piranha Bytes of their own accord, but were still contracted to the studio until June. Former employees of Piranha Bytes founded their own company Pithead Studio in early July.
