The Dude is back — and once again, there's no chance for a peaceful vacation. Publisher Running with Scissors and developer Hyperstrange have announced that the These Sunny Daze expansion for the chaotic shooter POSTAL: Brain Damaged will launch on PC September 9th.
The story finds our protagonist peacefully enjoying his vacation when he's yanked from his beach chair due to a bizarre presidential decree: the country has declared open season on redheads, and the bumbling vice-president has fled with the Dude's personal weapon stash.
"With a fruity cocktail in hand and fury in his heart, the Dude must now punch, piss, and shoot his way through crowds of sun-baked fanatics under the scorching sun to reclaim his weapons. Yes, he's been stripped of his beloved guns, but don't worry — the Dude is always armed. He'll just have to improvise more. And this time, he's got plenty of motivation." - from the POSTAL: Brain Damaged — These Sunny Daze Steam description/
The expansion takes players to a new sun-soaked region where they'll encounter colorful familiar faces while acquiring five fresh weapons ranging from amusing to downright offensive. Among the new additions is a sticky sweaty palm that allows climbing to previously inaccessible areas without needing a grappling hook.
The enemy roster expands as well: attention-hungry streamers and pumped-up "chads" clearly aren't planning to step aside. All of this unfolds under the blazing sun in an atmosphere of absurd summer madness.
As a reminder, the original POSTAL: Brain Damaged, released back in 2022, is a shooter in the spirit of classic action games that transports players into the Dude's distorted consciousness. Unlike previous entries, the game offers fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic gameplay combining retro and modern design elements with wild levels, diverse enemies, and insane weapons. Steam users have rated the game quite highly, with 95% of user reviews on Valve's platform being positive.
Players can unleash complete beach madness in POSTAL: Brain Damaged — These Sunny Daze on PC (Steam, GOG) starting September 9th. PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions will arrive sometime later this year.
