New Game Plus and More
The update adds New Game Plus mode, photo mode, a new weapon type, ability to play as more races (dwarves, orlans, aumaua), and more to Avowed. The addition will be available on all platforms.
Development Challenges Explained
As Lead Character Artist Dmitri Berman explained, more races in the character creator were discussed during Avowed's early development. However, the idea was abandoned because proper implementation would be extremely difficult, especially considering the parkour system, combat system, different weapons, and more.
All races have different heights and builds, each needing to provide a unique first-person experience. This would have been a completely new challenge. They couldn't fit it into Avowed's development timeline, but now they can deliver it to players.
Original Launch and Pricing
Initially, Avowed released February 18, 2025 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net) and Xbox Series X|S, including through Game Pass. PlayStation Store pre-orders are already available — the standard edition costs $50.
