As promised, yesterday evening the buzzy roguelike BALL x PIT from solo developer Kenny Sun received its first major content update. To mark the update's release, publisher Devolver Digital prepared an accompanying trailer and a small 20% discount active until February 2.
The Regal Update Contents:
- Two new playable characters — Carouser and Falconer. The former wields balls rotating around them, while the latter relies on two loyal falcons.
- Eight new balls with their own distinctive effects.
- Three new passive abilities.
- Endless mode — Now after defeating the boss, players can remain on the level as long as they want (or until the hero dies).
- Six new language support — Latin American Spanish, Polish, Italian, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
Future Updates Planned
Looking ahead, BALL x PIT will receive at least two more major updates — The Shadow in April and The Naturalist in July. Nothing is known yet about these patches' contents.
Platform Availability and Reception
BALL x PIT is available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, the Steam version boasts an "Overwhelmingly Positive" 95% rating based on over 20,000 reviews.
