Motion Twin, the studio behind the hit Dead Cells, has released its next project, the roguelite action game Windblown, into Steam Early Access.
Local adventures concern the floating village of Ark, which is threatened by the deadly Vortex. The main character must jump in the air on islands-arenas and quickly deal with enemies using weapons and abilities.
The game is being created by a team of eight people, or 12 if you count the freelancers. If the game is successful, they will think about a console version. The soundtrack for the crazy roguelike was written by Danger.
What Windblown already has:
- Five different biomes.
- Three-player co-op.
- More than a dozen types of weapons with unique attacks.
- Several playable characters.
- Many passive effects for the character and equipment items.
- Arenas are procedurally generated, so each run will be unique.
- There are several difficulty levels, the last of which should make even the most ardent fans of the genre sweat.
What will be added to the roguelike during early access:
- New biomes, enemies, weapons, equipment and more.
- New character skins.
- When moving from biome to biome, the player will be able to make a choice to influence their further run.
- Windblown is currently available on PC (Steam). The full release is still at least a year away.
Owners of Dead Cells will receive a discount when purchasing the game, and everyone who launches the game before November 7 will receive an exclusive skin.
