Ubisoft and SCREEN JUICE have announced that Morbid Metal launches in Early Access on April 8. The launch price is $13.49, rising to $17.99 afterward.
The game is set in a dystopian future where humanity is on the brink of extinction. The core mechanic is mid-combat character switching — players swap between heroes on the fly, chain their abilities together, and build attack combos to tear enemies apart. Each character brings unique moves and a signature ability, opening up different strategic approaches to each run.
Between runs, players upgrade characters, unlock new enhancement protocols, and spend Neurofragments on progression. Death resets the current run, keeping each cycle fresh.
Morbid Metal started as a university project before growing into a full game — SCREEN JUICE's debut release. A free demo is available now on Steam.
