According to gaming outlet PressOver, The Wolf Among Us 2 could finally arrive in 2027 — though the report comes with significant caveats given the game's troubled development history.
The sequel was first announced in 2017, only to be shelved in 2018 when Telltale Games shut down. After the studio's revival in 2019, development restarted from scratch. A 2023 release was later targeted but missed due to a switch to Unreal Engine 5. Official updates since then have been scarce.
PressOver now reports yet another possible restart, this time with an unnamed Argentinian studio brought in as a co-developer. The outlet also claims a remaster or expanded edition of the original game may arrive before the sequel. If any of this pans out, official details could surface before the end of 2026.
Former Telltale staff at AdHoc Studio previously confirmed they contributed to the sequel's script alongside the core team, though AdHoc has since shifted focus to its own projects, including Dispatch. What became of their work on the script remains unclear.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is planned for PC via Epic Games Store.
Given the game's history — multiple restarts, years of silence, and an unconfirmed co-developer — this rumor should be treated with caution.
