Sacred 2 Remaster Gets Performance and Stability Improvements

Sacred2 Remaster Bugs 1

The Sacred 2 remaster launched with technical problems and received many negative reviews from buyers. Recently, studios Jumpgate and SparklingBit released patch 2.0, designed to bring the game into proper shape.

As developers explained, most crashes were caused by memory leaks. Work on the update was delayed because the source of the problems was buried deep in 20-year-old code. The developers apologized for the troubled release and thanked players for their feedback.

Fixed

  • Numerous crashes caused by memory leaks
  • Multiple crashes related to UI tooltips, name generator, and inventory grid
  • Crashes related to lightsaber rendering
  • Crash that could occur when unpausing the game
  • Potential movement lock after using inventory
  • Incorrect difficulty level unlocking
  • Issue where some spell projectiles disappeared upon colliding with their caster
  • Issue where corpses blocked arrows flying over them
  • Several shading and texture problems with certain armor and equipment items
  • Skill icon distortion when level-up available
  • Several issues causing background music to disappear permanently
  • Item comparison screen overlap

Added

  • Vertical sync setting
  • Alternative PC control scheme where A and D keys rotate camera

Changed

  • Improved hit registration when using mouse
  • Increased performance during game loading and unpausing
  • God icons in character creation menu now appear in correct order
  • Improved floating text readability

Sacred 2 Remaster is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
