Stealth Mechanics in Season 14 of Sea of Thieves

Sea Of Thieves

Wanted new mechanics in Sea of Thieves? ! You've waited! In the fourteenth season, sea wolves will be able to move stealthily, and harpoons will allow you to move faster around the islands. In addition, the developers will introduce additional weapons and will not forget about updating the Pirate Emporium.

Key update points:

  • Players can now move in a half-crouch to sneak up on enemies. In stealth mode, the character makes less noise, their nickname is hidden from enemies, and mobs pay less attention to the sneaking character. If detection on the ship is inevitable, sneaks are free to hide on the outside of the vessel, hanging above the water.
  • When a pirate gets lost at sea, friendly mermaids are always ready to give him a ride to the ship. However, in the case of infiltrating someone else's schooner, undines can tell enemies that something is wrong. To scare off the tailed maidens for a while, a new snack will come in handy - mermaid fruit.
  • In the fourteenth season, sea wolves will be able to try themselves in the role of secret agents or spies. The developers have prepared a camouflage system to pretend to be one object or another and remain unnoticed in a visible place. So far, all players have access to only two options - a basic barrel and a chest. However, other options will be unlocked for completing tasks.
  • Loud guns are not suitable for stealth passage - instead, you can arm yourself with blowpipes. This weapon has several types of darts: poisonous, explosive and decoy darts. The latter not only burn brightly, but also attract the attention of various kinds of animals.
  • Those who like to plan should like the new type of throwing weapon - traps. You can attach surprises to them, for example, signal flares or incendiary bombs. Traps are allowed to be lightly buried in the sand to make them less noticeable. To neutralize a trap, it is enough to shoot at it, but confident pirates can try to disarm it manually. If the gamer does get caught, the sharp teeth will cause him minor damage and slow him down.
  • A harpoon gun will appear in Sea of Thieves. It will be useful for several things at once: to attract prey to yourself or to carry yourself. For the latter, you need to shoot at solid rock or the side of the ship and take off into the air.
  • Rare has also prepared a new pirate log and robber's pass, updates at outposts and a fresh supply of items in the Pirate Emporium.

Season 14 starts in Sea of Thieves on October 17. Let us remind you that the game is available on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5.
