Owlcat Games recently announced that it has gone into publishing and even signed two contracts. One of the first games from the new publisher will be Shadow of the Road, a turn-based RPG set in an alternative feudal Japan where magic coexists with steampunk steam engines.
In a new trailer, Another Angle Games showed how Shadow of the Road combines CRPG elements with turn-based combat. As you progress, you will constantly have to make choices, each of which can send the story down a completely different path.
The story in Shadow of the Road tells about the confrontation between traditionalists supporting the Tokugawa shogunate and the army of Emperor Mutsuhito, supported by Great Britain, and all the latest achievements of Western engineering. In a situation where the fate of the country can change in the blink of an eye, ronin Satoru and Akira are entrusted with an important mission - to protect a boy in whom powerful but uncontrollable magic is dormant. Together they will have to go around all of Japan and meet many characters. Some of them may join the squad.
Shadow of the Road is coming to PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. There is no release date yet.
