Sony is going to release more exclusives on Xbox and Switch

Sony may be preparing for the next step in its multi-platform strategy. A new job opening at PlayStation's headquarters in San Mateo indicates that the company intends to more actively promote its games beyond the PlayStation 5.

The job description states that the future manager will be responsible for optimizing profits from titles on all digital platforms, including “Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile devices.” He will oversee PlayStation Studios' commercial strategy in all areas not directly related to Sony's own hardware.

The main objectives include developing long-term revenue and expanding the audience through ports, managing relationships with competitors, and promoting games outside of PlayStation.

This is another step away from complete exclusivity. Sony has already released LEGO Horizon Adventures on Nintendo Switch and announced Helldivers 2 for Xbox Series. Most of the company's major projects have also made their way to PC.

However, PlayStation Studios president Hermen Hulst recently emphasized that Sony must be smart about porting its franchises to other consoles so as not to weaken the appeal of its platform.
