Spectre Divide: Tactical Shooter by Veteran Devs

Spectre Divide

Industry veterans who previously worked on Apex Legends, CS:GO, Overwatch, and so on, teamed up at Mountaintop Studio to develop Spectre Divide, a tactical competitive shooter in the 3v3 format. The developers call their creation “an evolution for the genre,” since players control not one fighter, but two at once.

In Spectre Divide, you have to think several steps ahead. This is all because of the main mechanics of Duality, which allows you to control two characters - a fighter and his phantom. All participants in the match can jump from body to body and are allowed to do this at any time. Duality can also be seen as a margin for error - thanks to phantoms, each player will have two lives. The double can be placed as a cover or used to view two areas on the map at once.

Spectre Divide takes place in the town of Breakwater in the near future. This place hosts an unsanctioned Santai competition. Gamers will not have to choose from a predefined list of heroes - they can sculpt their own fighter and phantom themselves.

The appearance of the characters and everything else in the game is made in the style of sci-fi comics and classic Japanese animation from the 90s. All objects look as if they were drawn by hand - this will ensure high readability of the environment.

Here are a few more features of the shooter:

  • The aiming system allows you to shoot extremely accurately on the move.
  • All aspects of the title, including equipment, economy, and maps, are closely intertwined with Duality.
  • In each match, you will have to choose equipment from sponsors that will suit your preferred role and style of play.
  • There is a big emphasis on ranked matches and weekly challenges with friends.
  • For Spectre Divide, we have prepared a bunch of cosmetic items that will highlight the individuality of gamers.
  • The lead consultant was Mike Grzesiek, known as Shroud, one of the most famous esports athletes and streamers in the competitive shooter scene.

The first stress test of the shooter will be held very soon - on August 3. The network infrastructure test will only last 8 hours, so don't yawn. You can request access directly from Steam. Admission will be issued to random players from among those who wish. The progress made will not be transferred to the full version of the title. Sharing materials from the stress test is prohibited.

Spectre Divide will be distributed as a shareware model on PC. There is no release date yet.
