Splitgate 2 Relaunch Scheduled for December

Splitgate 2

Portal shooter Splitgate 2 didn't fully cook through, forcing developers at 1047 Games to return it to "beta." The team has announced this period will end sooner than planned.

Beta servers will shut down December 4, when the current season ends and battle passes expire. Splitgate 2's full relaunch takes place the same month. Previously, 1047 Games was preparing to return the shooter in early 2026. The remaining week is the last chance to influence how the final version of Splitgate 2 will look.

Admitted Early Release Mistake

As a reminder, 1047 Games acknowledged they released Splitgate 2 too early. So in July, they returned the game to "beta," conducted layoffs, and shut down the original Splitgate servers because maintaining them was too expensive. However, in August the original received P2P multiplayer support so fans could continue playing.

Mixed Reception Continues

Can 1047 Games turn things around? Currently, Splitgate 2's beta has mixed Steam reviews — only 61% positive. The sequel originally launched on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation, and Xbox.
