After the unsuccessful release of Splitgate 2, the team at 1047 Games took time to reassess and returned the portal shooter to "beta." Testing has wrapped up, and the developers have shared their decision — Splitgate 2 is transforming into SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded.
To make SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded appeal to gamers, the team incorporated the best elements from both the first and second Splitgate. As a result, every aspect of the shooter was overhauled — from gameplay to the user interface. Here are the key changes:
- Removed factions, abilities, and some equipment from the sequel
- Implemented a new progression system. Cosmetics and weapons can be unlocked simply by playing
- Brought back classic arena mode with equal conditions for all players
- Enhanced the combat system, bringing it in line with modern arena shooter standards
- Redesigned the ranking system — now in-game rank truly reflects player skill level
- Added several community-requested features, including specific mode selection, detailed player statistics, and leaderboards
- Created five new maps and redesigned six arenas. Total map pool increased to twenty
- Added three new SMGs and the iconic railgun
SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded officially launches December 17 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation, and Xbox as a free-to-play title.
