Epictellers Entertainment has released a playable demo for Starfinder: Afterlight, the first computer RPG based on the Starfinder 2nd Edition tabletop ruleset.
The demo covers a linear segment of the prologue. The developers note that the Early Access version will expand the prologue with more branching, while the demo focuses on introducing core gameplay elements — character creation and leveling are not included.
The game features turn-based tactical combat with six playable classes: Soldier, Envoy, Operative, Mystic, Solarian, and Technomancer. A three-action combat system opens up a wide range of strategic options. Six companions of various backgrounds join the journey, including an android assassin and a mysterious prophet. Player choices carry moral weight and shape relationships, outcomes, and the fate of the galaxy.
Six months ago the studio ran a closed Kickstarter backer test. Since then, improvements have been made across UI, camera, combat, and more. The demo is available on Steam now in English only.
