Stygian: Outer Gods, a Lovecraftian survival horror RPG, is out of Early Access. Developer Misterial Games and publisher Fulqrum Publishing released version 1.0 on October 26, 2026. The update finishes the main storyline and adds new weapons, puzzles, enemies, and a boss fight.
The game costs $24.99 on Steam and GOG and is 20% off for launch. It first entered Early Access on April 14, 2025.
What’s New in Version 1.0
The biggest change is that Jack Harrison’s story now runs from beginning to end, with a new chapter added along the way. Version 1.0 also brings:
- New puzzles and artifacts
- More weapons
- New enemies and a boss encounter
- Performance and stability improvements
Misterial Games has also optimized the Unreal Engine 5 game, including work on Nanite and Lumen.
Saves from Early Access still work. The developers recommend starting a new playthrough anyway to avoid technical issues.
Game Setting
Outer Gods is set in the universe of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, before the disaster known as the Black Day. You play as Jack Harrison, who travels to Kingsport to find out what happened to his missing father. After a shipwreck, he ends up among supernatural creatures and mysteries connected to the Outer Gods.
The game is played in first person. It combines exploration, combat, investigation, and RPG progression. Supplies are scarce, so you scavenge and craft. You also have to manage both physical injuries and psychological afflictions. Some decisions can’t be undone, and they open different paths through the story.
Price and Deluxe Edition
Four extras are on sale alongside version 1.0:
- Official Digital Artbook: nearly 200 pages of concept art and other artwork
- Official Soundtrack: the game’s music
- The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack: two melee weapons and an extra artifact
- Deluxe Edition Bundle: the base game plus all three extras, with a 10% bundle discount
The developers say they’ll keep supporting the game. They plan to watch player feedback and release more updates, but they haven’t published a roadmap. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions were announced earlier, but they still don’t have release dates.
