Square Enix has released The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a new HD-2D RPG from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.
Unlike most games in the style, Elliot uses real-time action combat rather than turn-based battles. The story follows the brave Elliot and his fairy companion as they travel through the Gates of Time to find a way to break a curse on a princess.
Players explore four distinct eras across the journey:
- the Age of Preservation — Elliot's own time;
- the Age of Reconstruction — a century of hardship;
- the Age of Magic — the peak of human prosperity;
- the Age of Flourishing — the birth of human civilization.
A free demo is still available. The game is out now on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
