The Relic: First Guardian Combat System Showcased in New 9-Minute Trailer

The Relic First Guardian

Project Cloud Games has released a nearly 9-minute gameplay trailer for The Relic: First Guardian, focused entirely on the combat system ahead of the July 31 launch.

The game is set in the post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Asyltus, devastated by the forces of the Void after a great relic was destroyed. The First Guardian must collect the relic's shards and seal the Void once more.

The combat system is built around freedom and aggression — stamina is not consumed by attacks, only by blocking and dodging, and skills automatically recharge for reuse without resource management. Five weapon types and twelve exclusive skill trees allow players to mix and match abilities and build their own playstyle.

The loot system sets the game apart: every weapon and piece of armor exists as a single unique item in the world. Each piece carries its own history — a legendary knight's last blade, a shield embodying an ancient oath — and weapons are tied to specific emotions that add depth to combat.

The Relic: First Guardian launches July 31 on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5. Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2 versions follow later.
