The Year of the Fire Horse officially arrived on the Eastern calendar. For this occasion, the Evil Empire team added a tool to The Rogue Prince of Persia that releases a herd of fiery steeds. There's other game news regarding further content support.
Two Updates Scheduled for 2026
Only two updates are planned for first half 2026. The first starts in April, the second in May. Brief contents of each:
April Patch (Beta Late March)
- Cold element and accompanying weapon: slingshot
- Arenas for fending off enemy waves
- Weapon and tool affixes
- Higher difficulty
- New medallions
- Seriously reworked first-hour pacing: changed content unlock order and new mechanics introduction, plus adjusted boss difficulty
- First biomes transformed: level design will newly showcase iconic "wall-running" technique, with locations becoming more dynamic and intense
May Patch (Early May Release)
- Focuses on game's final stages
- Contents may change, but developers currently promise new trials, parkour mode, palace biome update, and possibly pets
Player Reception Improved
At the message's end, the Evil Empire team boasted that after The Rogue Prince of Persia exited early access, the game's Steam user rating rose from 70% to 88%. The roguelike also reached consoles, so combined with PC, the "Prince" audience nearly hit 1 million people. However, since the title is in subscriptions, this doesn't refer to sold copies.
