The 2D action game The Spirit of the Samurai, announced in the summer, received a new gameplay trailer, in which the developers revealed the exact release date.
The Spirit of the Samurai is the debut video game by Digital Mind. Before that, the developers had only created 3D animations for various types of media. The project combines elements of metroidvania and soulslike, and the most notable part of the title is the visuals stylized as puppet animation.
The game tells the story of the samurai Takeshi. The hero confronts demons that have broken free, with the help of the cat Chisai and the good spirit Kodama. Among the key elements of the gameplay are bloody battles with different types of weapons, as well as a rich tree of abilities.
The Spirit of the Samurai will be released on December 12 on PC (Steam, EGS). The demo will be available from October 14 as part of the festival on Steam. In the future, console versions are planned for release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
