This spring, Polish studio Fool's Theory released The Thaumaturge on PC, an isometric RPG that sends gamers to Warsaw in 1905, where otherworldly evil is happening amid political instability.
After a successful release on PC, the authors began producing console ports. Today they announced the release date - The Thaumaturge will be on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on December 4. Interested players can try the demo version before buying.
The title tells the story of thaumaturge Victor, a magician who can contact otherworldly beings and influence people with their help. The protagonist suffers from a certain spiritual disease that can make him helpless in the fight against demons personifying human vices.
In order to heal, he returns to his hometown and gets involved in local intrigues. In the new case, his ability to manipulate others with the help of subordinate salutors will be especially useful.
In terms of gameplay, The Thaumaturge offers turn-based battles with summoned creatures. Today, the project has a rating of 80% on Steam based on more than two thousand reviews.
