Campfire Cabal — founded by former Logic Artists developers — has announced Expeditions: Samurai with publisher THQ Nordic. The game is planned for PC Early Access later this year.
Players control
the first European to earn the title of samurai in feudal Japan — not the
historical William Adams, but an original customizable protagonist. Over the
course of the game, players assemble a crew of eight companions and get drawn
into the conflict between local feudal lords. A two-player co-op mode is also
included, with players taking on the roles of twins.
Story choices carry real consequences — decisions affecting individual characters and entire regions of Japan. The adventure begins aboard a Dutch privateer ship, the Albatross, arriving on the Japanese coast only to be immediately pulled into a war consuming the country.
Expeditions: Samurai is coming to PC via Steam in Early Access later this year.
