Journalist Tom Henderson spoke to his sources and revealed a few details about the next Battlefield.
- The action will take place around 2027–2030. The campaign will tell the story of the confrontation between NATO and a private military organization.
- Players will find various locations, including Gibraltar and the United States. In the battle royale mode, the action will take place in the tropical region of the United States.
- At the start, 45 types of weapons will be available in multiplayer — this is twice as many as in the basic Battlefield 2042. About ten maps are planned.
- They promise reworked destructibility — the new BF will be closer to Rainbow Six Siege, where the scale of damage depends on the caliber of the gun.
- Henderson mentioned the updated movement system — for example, it will be possible to drag the wounded.
- The creators of the action are building gameplay mechanics so that the game generates "Battlefield moments" — memorable scenes for which the series is famous.
- The authors have not yet decided on the name of the game — in particular, the team conducted surveys with options for Battlefield 6 and simply Battlefield.
Recall that the head of the Battlefield franchise, Vince Zampella, recently made it clear that the new BF will not have battles for 128 people, nor specialists from BF2042 — the developers want to release a traditional "battle" in the spirit of the best parts of the series.
Public testing of the shooter will start in early 2025 — this was announced by BF General Manager Byron Beede. Henderson believes that this will not be an OBT or CBT, but a full-fledged test environment similar to the CTE servers of Battlefield 4 and 1.
