In 2021, Valve held a conference where they showed off a white, Portal-themed portable PC. Many people liked this version, but at the time, the company did not have time to work on alternative color solutions for mass production. Three years later, Valve finally announced a white and gray version of the Steam Deck, albeit without the “portal” elements.
The 1 terabyte Steam Deck OLED has a new case color — all the characteristics remain the same. The package includes an exclusive white case and a microfiber cloth of the same color. The price is $679. Sales will begin simultaneously worldwide on November 19.
Valve has made a limited number of light Steam Deck units and tried to distribute them proportionally across shipping regions. To ensure that as many people as possible can purchase the portable PC (and to combat resellers), only one Steam Deck can be purchased per account. Additionally, the account must not have any suspensions and must have made at least one purchase on Steam before November 2024.
