Owlcat Games has announced the alpha test for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will begin December 16 on Steam, letting players try an early build. To join, gamers must preorder from the official Owlcat website. Only two of the four editions include alpha access: the $79 Developer's Digital Pack and the $289 Collector's Edition.
In Dark Heresy, players command an acolyte of the Imperial Inquisition, assembling a team to hop planets in the Calixis Sector, purging humanity's foes—especially the sudden Tyrant Star threat.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is in development for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. No release date yet.
Meanwhile, Owlcat continues supporting Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, with new DLCs in the works and a Nintendo Switch 2 version launching December 11.
