Fatshark has released the Beyond the Hive update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, taking players outside the walls of the Hive for the first time.
The headline addition is the new Expeditions mode, built around extraction shooter mechanics. Players venture beyond Tertium into the deadly wastelands of Atoma Prime, scavenging ruins for remnants of technology and fighting heretics before extracting with their loot. Procedural generation ensures each run plays out differently. The mode unlocks progressively as players advance.
Beyond the new mode, the update brings balance adjustments, several new enemy types — including a fearsome Ogryn Warlord — and new items.
Darktide currently holds over 130,000 reviews on Steam at 71% positive. The game is available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, including Game Pass.
