Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Receives Tenth Update with New Modes

Warhammer 40k Space Marine2 Main

This month, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 celebrates its first anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the developers have released the anniversary tenth content update, which includes two new modes — one for PvP and another for PvE.

In the PvP mode "Helbrute Assault," developers offer players the chance to take on the roles of Chaos Space Marines. During matches, two opposing teams will fight for control points, and the team that manages to capture a zone will gain access to a playable Helbrute. The Helbrute itself comes under the control of a random fighter from the winning team.

Meanwhile, the PvE mode "Stratagems" has been prepared, which diversifies matches through daily and weekly modifiers. These modifiers can either simplify or complicate battle conditions. For completing missions, players will receive a new currency called "Honours," which can be spent on various rewards.

In addition to the aforementioned modes, update 10.0 offers:

  • A new dangerous enemy in the form of three types of Chaos Spawn.
  • A new PvE operation "Vortex." Space Marines must return to Avarax and deal with a defunct astropathic choir, while simultaneously battling a new boss — the vortex beast of the Mutalith.
  • A new PvP arena "Bridge" on Avarax, which features long corridors and narrow tunnels.
  • Three new hero-tier weapons and several new variants of old weapons, including the xenophase blade, combi-melta, and double-edged chainsword.
  • A free cosmetic set of six Chaos Champion appearances for "Eternal War" mode.
  • Various balance fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

The developers have also prepared separate content for holders of the second season pass — gamers can obtain a Black Templars chapter champion and a cosmetic set from the Imperial Fists chapter.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. In honor of the anniversary and the update's release, the game is being sold at a 50% discount on all platforms.
