Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Launches New PvP Mode

Warhammer Vermintide2 1

After several stages of testing, the PvP mode Versus for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has reached release. The new game is available on PC (Steam).

The mode is reminiscent of the "Battle" from Left 4 Dead. The four heroes here are confronted not only by hordes of AI creatures, but also by four special monsters controlled by other players. Each match is divided into several rounds, between which the participants change roles.

Versus is launched through a special hub. You can get into it in two ways - open it from the main menu, or go down to the basement of the PvE hub. You will be offered to either start a quick game and connect to a dedicated server, or create a custom match for friends - then you yourself will be the host.

PvP skirmishes will unfold on heavily modified maps from the co-op:

  • "Righteous Resistance",
  • "Screaming Bell",
  • "Grain of Truth",
  • "Fort Brachsenbrucke",
  • "Machines of War".

Playing Versus, you will earn not only experience for the basic Vermintide 2, but also ranks in a separate progression system. For moving up the rank ladder, you get a special currency that can be spent on weapon illusions, portrait frames, hero poses and the appearance of playable monsters.

Finally, the developers at Fatshark have tried to make Vermintide 2 more friendly to newcomers. To do this, the studio has reworked the progression system and introduced a “Handbook” into the action game — a section with images and videos explaining the game mechanics. Read more about the patch here.

Those who are thinking about breaking into Vermintide 2 are tempted by a generous discount on Steam.
