RoyalCrow has announced Waste The Fallen, a first-person extraction shooter with cosmic horror elements inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. No release date has been set. The game is coming to PC via Steam. A closed alpha runs September 4–8, limited to North America.
Runs take place in the Abyss, inhabited by the Fallen — grotesque creatures born from an apocalyptic event. The deeper players venture, the more valuable the loot and the more dangerous the Fallen become. Standard extraction shooter loop: enter the zone, fight creatures and hostile operatives, collect loot, extract.
A key mechanic is the operative's bio-arm, which can be upgraded with collected resources to unlock supernatural abilities. The game is designed to be accessible rather than punishing — a special safe preserves most loot even on death.
