A couple of hours ago, Nintendo staff released an overview trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, designed to briefly showcase the upcoming game's core elements — from story setup to gameplay systems.
Story Begins on Mysterious Planet Vyrus
The fourth Metroid Prime's story begins with Sylux's attack on a Galactic Federation research center, after which Samus Aran finds herself on the mysterious planet Vyrus. Waking up in an unfamiliar location, the heroine must explore diverse environments and find a way off the planet.
Throughout her journey, Samus will gradually uncover the history of a long-extinct civilization. Both familiar skills and completely new psychokinetic abilities will prove useful. Major points of interest on Vyrus are scattered across a desert, which can be quickly traversed using a futuristic bike.
Not Alone on Vyrus
Samus isn't the only surviving Galactic Federation representative on Vyrus. As she progresses, the heroine will receive distress signals leading to her companions. They can assist with missions and unlock access to new abilities.
