Team17 and The Breach Studios have announced Westlanders, an open-world survival game set in the Wild West, launching in Steam Early Access in early 2027. Console versions for Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 are planned for the full release.
Players start as a lone settler and gradually build a small camp into a sprawling economic network across an entire valley. A wagon serves as the mobile base — upgradeable and customizable throughout the journey.
The open world features changing conditions and a range of dangers including bandits and wild animals. Players can discover hidden locations, meet diverse characters, and establish a network of settlements connected by trade routes. A deep research tree unlocks new gear, buildings, and resource gathering methods, with production chains that can be automated using workers and technology. The economy covers farming, livestock, and mining, all playable solo or with friends.
