Windrose First Content Update Still At Least Six Months Away

Windrose

Kraken Express has shared a development update for the pirate survival game Windrose, two weeks after launch. A small technical patch is currently in testing and could drop this week, followed eventually by the first major content update — though that's at least six months out.

The upcoming patch includes connection stability fixes, reduced CPU load on servers and clients during idle, lower HDD/SSD usage during gameplay, performance and stability improvements, 40+ new building blocks, and 50+ miscellaneous fixes. The developers are also attempting to improve the cloud save system, though this may require players to reset their settings after the update — a screenshot of current settings is recommended as a precaution.

Once the patch ships, the team shifts focus to the content update, which will add a new biome called the Ashen Lands. Details are sparse — the team is still in the ideas phase. News about the update won't arrive for another one to two months, and the update itself won't launch for at least six months.

Windrose is currently in Early Access on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
