When Tides Turn, the studio founded by Criterion Games co-founder Fiona Sperry, has announced Wreckreation 2, a sequel to the open-world arcade racer. No release date has been set.
Sperry says the game was shaped directly by six months of community conversations about what players want from a modern arcade racer — from handling and progression to game modes and world design.
The core fantasy is aggressive racing where victory depends on more than raw speed. Players ram rivals, force mistakes, pick the right moment to attack, and fight for every position. The setting is Heartbreak City, with districts ranging from a busy downtown and elevated highways to an airport, docks, and a network of hidden shortcuts. Map knowledge translates directly into competitive advantage.
Modes include Road Rage, Marked Man, Pursuits, Blackspots, Wreckonings, and Eliminators, alongside a Live Mix system for creating and sharing custom challenges.
The game is coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
