11 bit studios has released a story trailer for Breach of Trust, the second major DLC for Frostpunk 2, launching June 23.
The expansion takes place in New Edinburgh, a city built at the foot of a volcano now facing destruction after irresponsible use of geothermal energy triggers an eruption. Following the overthrow of the old Captain, players step into the role of First Citizen, tasked with steering the city through periodic trust votes while unrest grows and volcanic ash blots out the sky. A neighboring colony on a frozen lake becomes the only safe refuge as conditions worsen.
Key additions include five unique communities and factions, each with their own history and ideology; five new buildings for city infrastructure; two new scenario maps; new hazards including Tremors and Volcanic Nights mechanics; new events and gameplay systems; management of an independent colony; and new laws.
Frostpunk 2 is available on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
