Fallout: London Could Make GOG a Modding Hub

Fallout London Gog

An interesting precedent is unfolding around the global Fallout: London mod: it will be distributed with the support of the GOG store. As it turned out, the site has its own thoughts about user modifications.

Marcin Paczyński, senior business development manager at GOG, spoke about this in an interview with VG247.

"This is exactly that – a 'trial run’," Paczyński says in response to the question of whether GOG would be open to the idea of supporting more large-scale modding projects like this once Fallout: London is out, be they for Fallout, CD Projekt’s own Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, or other games, "and if our community likes it, we will seriously consider doing more things like this in the future."

Paczyński specifies the characteristics GOG seeks in mods for potential support: "This is very new to us, to be honest, so we don’t have any established guidelines for this yet, besides 'common sense', if you will. If our community likes what we did with Fallout: London when it is released, we will consider our next steps here."

As a reminder, GOG is helping to create an installer for Fallout: London that will work with Fallout 4 on both Steam and GOG. The mod is based on previous versions of the game, so if necessary, it will roll back the game to the state before the next-gen patch.

Fallout: London still doesn't have a release date, but the release is expected very soon.
