Following the release of Borderlands 4, developers at Gearbox have begun creating the promised DLC, details of which were already revealed in premium edition descriptions. During Tokyo Game Show 2025, the studio presented a brief animated teaser for C4SH (Cash) — one of two upcoming playable characters.
Cash is a former robo-dealer who left the casino for the free life of a Vault Hunter. Like other Borderlands 4 heroes, Cash features three unique active skills with three skill trees for creating diverse builds. The developers will share more details about Cash's abilities over time. For now, it's only known that his playstyle is luck-based with various effects like ally buffs, increased damage output, and more.
The character is part of the first story pack Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, scheduled for Q1 2026 (January through March). The pack is included in the "Vault Hunter" bundle, which is part of the game's Super Deluxe Edition priced at $129.99. The developers have planned two-story packs total, each available for individual purchase. Besides Cash himself, the first pack will offer a new map zone, story and side missions, legendary gear, and various cosmetics.
Borderlands 4 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a future release planned for Nintendo Switch 2.
