Once again, the developers from Gearbox are introducing players to the skills of the main characters in Borderlands 4. This time, a fresh gameplay trailer was dedicated to the combat abilities of the mighty Amon.
In the heat of battle, Amon prefers heavy close-combat weapons, but he's also effective at range. Among the playable characters, Amon's combat mechanics are most tied to elemental effects. Additionally, his shield can absorb incoming damage and redirect it back toward enemies, while his flame wall can serve as protection for allies.
"If you like rushing headfirst into battle, taking damage and dealing it in equal measure, you should pay attention to Amon. He's not only a resilient frontline fighter but also possesses a mechanically complex set of combat skills with primary and secondary functions that will allow even the most experienced players to experiment. In the overview trailer, you can witness Amon tearing his enemies apart with an arsenal of weapons that take the form of drones stored in the hero's cybernetically enhanced body. Amon can attack or defend as needed, ready to crush enemies with hammers, cleave them in half with axes, absorb damage with his shield, and do much, much more."
The release of Borderlands 4 will take place on September 12th for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version launch is scheduled for October 3rd. Meanwhile, from August 20th to 24th, visitors to the gamescom 2025 exhibition in Cologne will be able to try out the demo at the Microsoft booth.
