Green Hell is an Amazon jungle survival simulator that is about to turn five years old (or six, if you count the year in Early Access). It would seem like a great reason to rejoice, but the Creepy Jar team left the community with a feeling of light sadness.
The developers showed the next content update, which will allow survivors to decorate their hut. Paintings, paints, shelves and so on - the update has everything that can be crafted for comfort in the wild. Decorations will be released on Steam on September 3 and will be the final update for Green Hell. It is unclear when the add-on will reach PS5, Xbox Series and Switch.
"Our adventure with Green Hell comes to an end with this free content update. Next Thursday the game will be celebrating its 5th anniversary - it’s already five years since the release of the 1.0 version, published back on the 5th of September 2019. Throughout this time we’ve released over hundreds of game updates and twenty free content updates, which hugely expanded the game’s mechanics and story. And now - with teary eyes - we’ve decided to publish one more - the final update to the game and make the Green Hell experience complete." - Devs announced.
The survival game won't get any more content updates on PC, but Creepy Jar isn't giving up on supporting its creation. Now the developers will focus on the next project - StarRupture, about building bases and surviving on an alien planet.
The studio also said that it would give a gift to all owners of Green Hell in honor of the anniversary. The Anniversary Pack with an artbook, soundtrack, and a set of digital goodies should have already appeared in the game folder on users' systems. The bonus should be received by over 6 million people - Creepy Jar announced this print run in June 2024.
