Saros Launch Trailer Released — Gameplay Modifiers and Accessibility Details

Saros Trailer

Housemarque has published the launch trailer for Saros alongside new details about gameplay modifiers and accessibility options.

The trailer showcases the two primary weapons on the planet Karcosa — chakrams and the Illumination Beam — and gives a look at boss encounters against the Lords of Karcosa. The story centers on Arjun Devraj on the hostile planet Karcosa, where something is driving people to madness. A character played by Keone Young (Men in Black 3) appears at the opening, painting images being forcibly projected into his mind.

Gameplay Modifiers

Each death makes Arjun stronger, and modifiers let players adjust the challenge in either direction. Accessibility-leaning options include boosted defense and damage output and reduced shield energy consumption for more frequent use of powerful weapons. Players seeking a harder experience can enable weapon degradation, remove death reprieves, or strip all armor upgrades.

Accessibility

Confirmed options include a colorblind mode to help distinguish projectiles, a dialogue focus mode, and controller remapping. More details will be shared after launch.

On the creative side, Housemarque worked with acclaimed graphic novelist Ram V during pre-production on world-building and character development for Arjun and Nithya.

Saros launches April 30 exclusively on PlayStation 5. Pre-orders include bonus armor sets and 48-hour early access.
