Starfield Comes to PS5 on April 7 With New DLC and a Major Free Update

Starfield Dlc Update

Bethesda has officially confirmed the PS5 release date for Starfield and revealed everything coming alongside it.

The PlayStation 5 version launches April 7 in two editions: Standard at $49.99 and Premium with all additional content at $69.99. PC and Xbox Series pricing will also be adjusted. The port launches alongside the free Free Lanes update and the paid Terran Armada DLC.

Free Lanes Update

  • Improved space flight with a new cruise mode — players can fly between planets within a star system, set a destination, enable autopilot, and walk around the ship or talk to crew while in transit
  • New locations, points of interest, random encounters, side quests, and dungeons
  • New ship editor modules
  • New X-Tech crafting mechanic — a new resource lets players upgrade gear, weapons (swapping legendary modifiers), and ship modules
  • Enemy modifiers including extra defense, increased speed, and elemental damage
  • New ground vehicle and a new pet
  • Shared resource container across all outposts
  • New character menu database
  • Collectible action figures with permanent effects — similar to Fallout 3's bobbleheads
  • New crew members: Muria and a mini-bot
  • Improved Starborn abilities
  • New Game+ carry-over for a limited number of items
  • New photo mode and camera options

Terran Armada DLC — $10

  • New story campaign centered on the Terran Armada — a fleet that vanished during the Colonial War and has returned to impose its own order
  • New companion: Delta, a reprogrammed Terran Armada robot
  • Invasion system — the star map shows active Terran Armada invasion points with combat encounters and valuable loot
  • New ships, modules, gear, and outpost decorations
  • New crew member: ModelG, a small robot

During the presentation, Bethesda also quietly added new content to the Trackers Alliance expansion, available in the Creation Club for 700 credits.
