Starfield arrives on PlayStation 5 on April 7, launching alongside the free Free Lanes update. Bethesda has outlined what PS5 and PS5 Pro players can expect.
PS5 Pro Graphics Modes
Two modes are available on PS5 Pro, both powered by PSSR upscaling. Pro Visual Mode targets 4K at 30 fps for maximum visual fidelity, while Pro Performance Mode targets 60 fps for a smoother experience.
DualSense Features
Adaptive triggers give each weapon type — both ground and starship — its own distinct physical resistance and feedback on L2 and R2. The lightbar shifts color to reflect health on the ground or ship status in space, pulsing red in danger and returning to white as you recover. The touchpad offers quick navigation shortcuts: left side switches POV, right side opens the map, hold right to activate the hand scanner, and swipe in different directions to access Inventory, Missions, and Skills. Audio logs and ship intercom audio play directly through the controller speaker.
The PS5 version includes all updates released to date. Standard edition is priced at $49.99, Premium with all additional content at $69.99.
