Owlcat Games has introduced another companion from Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy — Laarthyr Cairnareth, an Asuryani Aeldari who abandoned his craftworld to become a Corsair in pursuit of a mysterious and apparently suicidal mission on a human-populated world.
A powerful psyker whose abilities far exceed human potential, Laarthyr can be killed on sight in the name of the Inquisition — or recruited as a valuable ally if the player is willing to set ancient enmity aside. Taking him in marks another step toward the Radical label.
As a Pathfinder, Laarthyr can navigate the treacherous Webway — the dimensional network Eldar use to travel the galaxy — and guide the souls of fallen kin to their soul stones, protecting them from the Chaos god known as She Who Thirsts.
No release date has been set. A closed beta is currently underway, accessible to players who pre-order the Digital Developer Kit ($79) or collector's edition ($289) on the studio's official site.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is in development for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
