For now, Larian Studios doesn’t have any plans to add a Divinity: Original Sin 2 crossplay feature with PCs and Consoles.

Cross-platform usually just means the game exists on more than one system. PC, console, iPad, whatever. That’s it. It doesn’t promise you can team up with someone on a different device. It just means the game was released there.
