Great news for PlayStation 5 owners. Publisher Coffee Stain Publishing and developers at Iron Gate Studio have announced Valheim's console release window for Sony's platform — 2026. The announcement comes with a trailer featuring voiceover work by Neil Newbon.
Iron Gate co-founder Henrik Törnqvist expressed the studio's excitement about expanding Valheim's audience through the new platform release. Törnqvist noted that the team eagerly anticipates the stories players will create as they dive into their Viking adventures on PS5.
Valheim remains in early access, which launched in February 2021. The Scandinavian survival game established itself on PC during that same period, while the Xbox version arrived in March 2023.
The game achieved remarkable commercial success, reaching one million sales in its first week and surpassing 12 million total units sold to date. Cross-play support exists between Xbox and PC versions, though it remains unclear whether the PS5 version will integrate with this feature.
